The game of Civil War may be unfamiliar to most but if you love playing Beirut but get tired of waiting an hour for people to sink the last cup or you have a ton of people who want to play, then this is the game for you. It can be viewed as a variation of Beirut as it involves ping-pong balls and cups, however in this game all members are participating at once with four ping-pong balls being shot at will. Teams will battle head to head in a best of five series, with the winning team being the first to be victorious in three rounds. Here at the St. Patrick's Day games the following rules will be used.

Rules

Start:

  • Teams will line up opposite their opponents.
  • Each member will have their own pyramid of three cups.
  • Each member will use one beer to fill the tree cups equally.
  • A "Best of three" game of rock, paper, scissors will be played with the winner shooting first.
  • Each member of that team will start with a ping-pong ball.

Game Play:

  • When they are ready, member of the team will begin shooting.
  • If a shot is made, the owner of that triangle must remove and drink the cup.
  • That opponent may NOT shoot the ball until their cup is finished.
  • If a teammate has a ball in hand and one of their cups is made, they may shoot the ball in hand but not the ball in the cup.
  • Teammates may pass the ball to another teammate to shoot while they are drinking their cup.
  • There is no need to wait to shoot. When you have a ping-pong ball you may shoot and can shoot at any triangle you want.
  • Once all three of your cups are eliminated you are out and may not drink or shoot any more. However you may assist in retrieving ping-pong balls for your team.
  • There are no re-racks.
  • The winning team is established by which team first wins three rounds.
