A new addition to the St. Patrick's Day Games this year, The Relay Race has been around for decades making appearances in everything from grammar school field days to the Summer Olympics. Over that time, many different styles of this race have developed, however one fact remains the same. it will involve the entire team participating and working together to have a good showing. Here at the St. Patrick's Day Games the following rules will be used:

Rules

Start:

  • Teams will participate one at a time.
  • Teams will select which members of their team will complete the four legs of the race.
  • Teams will all start at the same time from the Start/Finish line.

 Game Play:

  • There will be four stations with cups of beer at each.
  • Each leg of the race will be completed in a certain way
  • Each station will have less cups then the remaining teams and the teams that do not acquire and drink a cup will be eliminated.
  • The legs of the race will be completed in the following manner:
  • 1st - One team member will be blind-folded an teammates will be required to verbally guide this player to the drinking station and to a cup and then back the the starting line.
  • 2nd - The teammate will not be allowed to use his/her hands
  • 3rd - Two team members - Three legged race to next station.
  • 4th - Straight sprint to cup, drink it and race to the finish line.
  • Cups must be finished at each station prior to the teammate heading to the start finish line.
  • Teammates must cross the Start/Finish line before the next leg can be started.

Penalties:

  • Physically preventing another team from getting to a cup in not allowed an teams may be eliminated for intentionally doing so.  
  • If a player dumps beer as opposed to drinking it, That team may be eliminated.
